It is presumed to be the autochthonous sort,probably within the group of Malvasia wines. It is spread through the whole vineyard region of coastal Croatia.
Raceme is big, long, thick, cylindrical or conical whit visible wings or sleeves, small and round grapes whose colour ranges according to the position from green, gold-yellow to amber.
It ripens towards the end of September and contains from 90-110 ͦOe of sugar and 4-7 g/l of acids. It is often used in production of the dessert wine called „Prošek“ or sherry because of high percentage of sugar it contains.
The wines are top quality, concentrated and they vary in colour from green-yellow, gold-yellow to colour of straw. Fruity components of ripe fruits and honey prevail ih the character of these wines together with high level of alcohol and moderate to mild acids. They have a very concentrated flavor, depth and richness of fruit. They are served chilled at temperature of 10 ͦC with meat (grilled as well) and fish of high quality.
